Do I have to sign up to participate?

No, the participation list is just there so people can see who is included in this project. If you don't want to be listed, you don't have to be. You can still send in a set and be included.

Do I have to claim a date for my set to be released?

Nope. Some people like their sets to be released on days of importance to them, so that option is available, but you certainly don't have to pick a date. If you don't want a specific date, but have some sort of preference like "some time at the beginning of the month" I would be happy to accomodate you. Claimed dates aren't final anyway until I receive the set, so if you want a date that is already reserved, let me know and I'll see what can be done.

If I sign up to participate and/or claim a date for the current challenge, but don't submit a set, can I still participate in future challenges?

Yes, you can. I would prefer that you not claim a date if you're pretty sure that you won't be able to finish in time, but it's really not a big deal. I accept unlimited entries so by reserving a release date and then not submitting anything, you're not really depriving anyone of anything.

Am I allowed to use a template to make my set? What about working on the set with someone else?

Yes, you may collaborate with other people, which includes using a template base made by someone else. As long as everyone who contributed is credited and all rules are followed, there is no problem.

May I submit an expansion set?

Updated sets are preferrable, but yes, expansions are allowed. The original set needs to be freely downloadable for everyone, though. If it's an expansion for someone else's set, the same rule applies, but you'll also need to obtain permission from the original artist.

How close to the theme does my set have to be?

Not very, but it has to be related in some way. If you're worried, just ask me.

Are adult dolls okay?

Yes, probably. "Adult" is a very broad category, so it really depends on the subject matter. For something like this, it's really best to run the idea by me first to see if it'll be accepted. Don't worry, anything I consider to be intended for adults only will be clearly marked, so no one will be tricked into downloading sets they would probably find offensive.

Can I submit a doll that I already started before the current challenge began?

Absolutely. The KTC is here to inspire people to create, not put strict limitations on how or what. Any excuse to put together an unfinished set is a good one.

Can I submit a doll that I already released?

No, that would kind of defeat the purpose of this challenge. If the doll is already out there for everyone to play with, what's the point having it released as part of the KTC? The only way around this is if you've significantly expanded a previous set and the updated version is specifically for the KTC.

I missed the deadline. Can I still submit my set?

Yes, as long as the distribution period isn't over yet. Not everyone can be late, though! There has to be something to distribute at the beginning of the month. Just try really hard to get your set finished on time.

Am I allowed to distribute my challenge entry on my site? Even before it's released as part of the KTC?

I can't tell you how to distribute your own work. I would really prefer that you wait for its KTC release to distribute it elsewhere, but again, that's your call.

Do I have to make a doll or can I make some other set like a game or anything else?

Whatever you want to make is fine. Just because everyone else does a dress up doll doesn't mean you can't make a "build-your-own-castle" set or something like that.

Is the theme different for every round or do the themes repeat annually?

It is my intention to have a different theme every round, but perhaps if any particular theme was popular enough to get requests for a repeat, I wouldn't be opposed to that. Theme suggestions are always welcome, so if you've got some, e-mail them to me.
